BOLTON, Mass.--On June 25, 2008 more than 100 Dana Farber Leadership Council members and guests enjoyed an afternoon of golfing at the world-renowned International in Bolton, MA. The 5th annual DFLC tournament raised $58,000 and was organized by the golf committee, led by co-chairs Mike Cornell, Katie Hirtle, and Russell Norris.
After golfing, guests enjoyed a silent auction, cocktails, and dinner at the International’s clubhouse. Mike Andrews (pictured below) welcomed the group and presented the Co-Chairs with a commemorative frame recognizing the 5 year anniversary of the tournament.
Lou Merloni (pictured to the right), a NESN Red Sox analyst, served as the emcee for the remainder of the evening. Lou received Big East Co-Player of the Year honors at Providence College and was drafted in the 10th round by the Red Sox in 1993 and spent parts of 6 seasons with Boston (1998-2003).

The featured speaker was Greg Montalbano (pictured to the left), a former Red Sox minor league baseball player and cancer survivor. Sharing a truly inspirational story, Greg talked about his fight with testicular cancer and his treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
The event concluded with a live auction featuring a trip to CA to stay at the Hyatt Grand Champions Resort & Spa; a villa on Kiawah Island; a classic Chesapeake Bay waterfront vacation estate; and the Ultimate Golf Package, including tickets to the Masters practice round, golf at The Country Club and Ben Hogan golf equipment.
